"We are not just a Melodic Death metal band, you can hear death, doom and gothic sounds here.
SURU was formed in 2008 by Alvaro (Vocals) and Ruben (Lead Guitar). From the beginning they want to make something new inside the melodic Death Metal scene. Then, a new sound was created by combining extreme screams and gothic voices. Because of that, we can say SURU is a Death gothic doom combo.
The name of the band, SURU (= Sorrow, Finnish lenguage), reflect the dark and pessimist side of the lyrics. Trying to kill a self-destruction feeling.
Together Alvaro and Ruben, the current line up is complete with Juli on bass, David on guitars and Vity on drums.
Their first recording 'Brutal Goth' got an amazing reception in the media and people. If you see a show of the band you´ll never say It was boring."
